Interview with Arun Chattopadhyay

Its been after couple of followups I could manage a session with Arun C, the famous AC. For those who dont know AC, he has an illustrious Sales and marketing experience of 45 years in textile, paper and petrochemical domains and is now working as a career and business coach. Though ours was scheduled as an Zoom call, AC had to step away from desk and it ended up as a phone call. Here is a text transcript of our conversation

Brief Bio about me

I had filled out AC’s questionnaire prior to our meeting where he queried about my field of specialization, my most important problems, the tasks i like to do most, what i want to be in future, what i want to have in future and what i want to do in future. Still, I took the liberty and gave a brief intro about me for 2 minutes.

  • AC : So you want to venture into writing the email funnel for your website? why not delegate to a freelancer?
  • DD : yes. I have a passion for writing and hence I would like to do that
  • AC : Are you aware about Email copywriting techniques?
  • DD: Yes. Theoretically. Plan to put it into action here.
  • AC : sounds fine to me. Have you decided on your email provider?
  • DD: yes
  • AC : okay. So do perform AB testing with email copies. Also, track open rates and click through of emails. Do provide huge amount of value in your emails, monthly once pull everyone for a casual chat about the Electronics Manufacturing industry. Slowly, you can collect their contact numbers or request them to join a WA or telegram group. Also, have them subscribe to all your social media channels.
  • DD: I also plan to hone my writing skills in my blog. Do you think I need to have a separate website for the agency?
  • AC: Advisable to have one. But don’t worry too much on any dependency now. Just get started asap, with whatever you have now. Please make sure to have SEO optimized articles. Have a theme for all your articles such as ‘ best recruiting agency for all your electronic manufacturing company needs’
  • DD : Sure
  • AC : You also need to create a landing page with an invitation to join your community. The lead magnet could be timely intimations about latest and only-insider aware job openings. I would recommend you to create a short eBook about this domain and how best to land a job here. Use that as lead magnet.
  • DD: Sure
  • AC: I think, that should get you going. Create more content and concentrate on that for next 6 months. Publish your content across your Blog, LinkedIn, Quora , Twitter and Instagram. Create short videos based on your article and keep your Youtube channel enriched. When you capture a lead, provide them a survey and segment them per their role and industry. in an year, you should aim to have your own inventory of middle-level employees in EM space. Thus your turnaround time for a open position will be faster. From employer perspective, you have those insider-first-aware open positions that the prospective employees would love. And from employee perspective, you will have your own set of prospective candidates ready to respond to a job openings and thus you no longer would be dependent on job portals. what say?
  • DD : that would be nirvana.
  • AC: Yes. Cool then, Let this be your short term and long term goal. Lets meet on Feb 2022 for next review.
